The 2nd Edition of…

THE GREAT SHEEP ESCAPE!!!

This morning I was looking out over the farm from my bedroom window enjoying the beauty the rain had brought to the farm…All the green…the trees all leafing out…when I saw a sheep in the neighbor’s field. It was green she is white (from all the rain) washed clean for sure…Anyway …I said to Les we have a sheep out! I bet we left her behind Sunday!  There had been a lamb that had fussed yesterday…and I thought it was because of all the rain …well…it wasn’t !

We took the sheep down and put them behind the dam because we knew the fence was fixed and we would have to get that one ewe up. So I took KAT this time.

We did not get back to the house hardly before the sheep were bahhhhing and kicking up heels and jumping and off to the neighbor’s field again! This time…they took advantage of the rain and the branch washing out under the fence! They had ducked  under the fence and run for their fun!

Now you might be thinking why do my sheep like other people’s grass and not ours? That is a good question…and one that has forever been a question of anyone with stock! The grass is all ways greener on the other side of the fence!

Les and I took KAT and the gator and went to the upper side of the neighbors field… KAT worked the sheep down the hill to the fence (Les had opened it up) and KAT drove the sheep mainly with a bit of fetching…right back in the way they came out. Les and KAT took them back to the secure fenced field and shut the gates. I drove the gator back to the house!

Sigh…Sheep…I love them! and my good English Shepherds! And I love my good husband Les! 🙂

More fence repair work tomorrow! And now the rain is coming back for a visit! It is thundering and lightening!
