Simply…BOO…she is gone…

She was born to a good Mama my sweet Amarillo…her good sire was “My” Dallas…

I lost a good one today…There are not many words…

A good dog that never bothered a thing or a soul…

BOO was a good Mama…one of the best…she raised good puppies “Journey is one” and there are many ,many more… Thank God for my “J”…

Some said early on I should put her down…THEY DID NOT KNOW ENGLISH SHEPHERDS!!!!

She was a good girl..,my friend, myself appointed protector, she loved ME with all her heart…She was good at working sheep…she was a special keep them away from the gate dog…a special kind of just “holler” her name  dog! It alone commanded respect from the sheep…Many is the time I spoke her name and the sheep retreated. (she was not insight)

Oh…the trails we have ridden! I recall the time she was 6 months old and took off after a deer. She was my only dog that did this…We were in the mountains…of course Drover being a young pup went with her…She could find her way back to me…always did! but Drover he went back to camp unknown to me and 4 hard ridden hours latter there he sat waiting on ME!  I was so very thankful! Then MAD! 🙂

One time BOO was just a pup…She and I went packing in …a couple ladies went with us… BOO protected us from three very stupid drunks way back up in the mountains of Virginia.  I suspect they still remember a blur of a little  (pup) at the time that refused to let them out of the truck…LOL! I encouraged the behavior at that time and that was all she needed. From that day forward she was on guard…(thus the should put her down comment)  Because uneducated folk thought her over the top…

She was a good sheep dog…and even better cow dog. Fearless! and instinctive.   Like the dogs in the  Helms line before her…

once the neighbors cows got into our pasture…she held them for four hours in the corner of our field…all 21 of them till the neighbor was able to come home crank his tractor and call them back…and LOL! when they went home we followed . He could not get them in the gate at the barn…BOO did the work for us!  She was amazing! So much so he was impressed…(Me too) 🙂

The English Shepherd World lost a good one today! The “real deal” of an Old Time True Working English Shepherd dog.

My heart is broken, as is Les’s …Reba you and the Good Lord must have needed a good dog in heaven to do your work…

Her race is run here…it is done…well done my good and faithful friend! I love and miss you!

😭😭😭😭😭Oh Kay. My heart is so broken for you. I am just so sorry for the pain you feel that comes with this. She WILL be at the gates of Heaven when you arrive. The pure beauty of that is that she’ll spend her time just living you since there’ll be no need to protect you there💖 Hugs, hugs, and more hugs my friend💖

Kay, I am so very sorry to hear this but I know it must have been her time. You would know. She loved you and Les with her whole heart. I remember when we came to pick up Rosie-pup BOO was there, a young pupper herself. You let her in the cottage and she was soooo excited! Les gave her belly rubs-I can still see her stretched out on her back! She was a beautiful dog. A beautiful soul. And she could ‘read’ you in a heart beat. I am so glad she was a friend, one of my special dog friends! I will miss her gentle greetings when we come., as I know you miss her every second.
I am so sorry Les and Kay. May she now run free💖💔

What good fortune you had to have been in her life. In addition to being beautiful, she clearly was the Einstein of canines. Hoping you feel surrounded by her spirit every moment.

    Kay,
She’s got a piece of your and Les’s hearts with her. You can be sure she’ll keep those pieces safe and warm, just like she kept you safe and warm till you meet up again.

    Oh Kay,
I am so sad for you and Les. Of all the incredible dogs I’ve met through wonderful herding friends and mentors like you, this loss of Boo has the biggest gut punch.
I remember before I came to Maple Grove in person,
I would look at pictures of English Shepherd, Boo, on your website and FB page. Then I arrived at your place, rounded the corner and there she was. More beautiful than ever.
Thank you for sharing a few stories about her.
I know the memories are huge.
Take care, my friend. You and Les are in my prayers.

I do not get on FB much. As a matter of fact I am signing off for a while but want to keep looking at my groups only as far as the belgians and your herding group site. I am so sorry. what a resilient breed you have. i WAS JUST AT YOUR PLACE THE OTHER DAY!!. I am so sorry, if I had known, I would have said something.
So crazy, I have been researching this breed the past few days in consideration of getting a nice stud or brood bitch in the states. I would like this breed to thrive, they seem like awesome all-rounders( I want my BSDs to thrive too)….Ironic that I was doing research when Boo passed…. She was so blessed to have you as an owner, handler, teammate, partner and friend. God Bless
