Saturday was planned for herding lessons…but the expected weather altered us a bit…
Vanessa, Ashlyn and Grace came to help and to work dogs… Grace is new to this world but came because of her love of horses and all animals.
First we had to fill the sheep water in the field…and empty all water containers in the field so they will not freeze and burst…Shut all the gates and lock them…that keeps them in alignment for the freeze and thaw.
We made a wind break for the sheep and on the other side put 3 round bales of hay plus a forage pan/lick. The sheep were very happy with the new set up.
We had to deworm today and have 21 bred ewes it looks like…10 more than I thought…Hopefully they will wait till the weather is better…but the stork comes when he will!!!
We moved gravel…every little bit really helps!
Everything is stacked, stored, put up secured I hope!
Vanessa is learning to drive with her nice Aussie, and coming along fine. Ashlyn is practicing all things, again doing well…Then there is KAT…I try to do things correctly, she has been a farm dog with privlidges and it is difficult to fix her when she gets the job done just not in trial type…we are working n that and a solid stop or down…she did well this afternoon.
Sweet Whisper…quite the bouncy girl…not bad
Then there is Tallie Ho! The name nails her! I love her and she wants to be correct. plus she has a nice interest and drive!
We also had one ewe to trim.
I walked 4 miles, total.
Les hauled and stacked wood. Got the stalls ready for the horses, put my sweet chickens up and moved hay. Wow what hard dedicated work he did!
I have a stew on, and we will be ready for good meals tomorrow!
I am most blessed with good help ! Thank you every one!
